I am sorry, but bad news...

After a few days of thought, I finally picked out a publisher for my story as some of you may already know. To my dismay, when I went to their web site to see about submitting my manuscript, it stated I needed an agent. I told my mom, and she agreed, adding the fact that I would also need an editor.

This has set me back a great deal and made me stop dreaming. I am sorry to say, I'm giving up my writing career. I have life to catch up with, and almost my entire life's worth of maturity to fix. Please understand this situation.

Hmm. I dunno how to say this, so i'll just say it at the risk of possibly getting the wrong message across..

I have no clue how that must feel, mainly because nothing like it has ever happened to me. However, i do imagine that you must feel terrible... empty. So, here's some advice.... dunno if it will help much though.

Try to think about things besides being unable to become a writer. Thinking about it will most likely prolong the feeling. However, if you think about other things that interest you, chances are you won't feel as bad, or at least not as bad for as long.

Wierd and CC have a good point. You can become a writer, even if it requires some work. You have talent, and you should use it! Just because it requires more work than you expected to become a writer doesn't mean you shouldn't.

.....Lets take it this way. You've spent 6 months on a school project and you're all excited because you're in a contest and you could win $10,000 for just third place. So you tell your parents about it and they say "You cant go because we're busy that day so no one's going to be able to drive you."

Would you keep trying at this, or would you just rather let it drop since you know you'll never get there?

well i think you should be your own agent or what ever but when you are famous remeber us here in weirdland

I'd find someone else who could drive me! There's always other ways... That's just like the either/or rule in Logic. There aren't just two options, you're always open to multiple@

I dont have multiple choice. I either get published, or I don't. And I will NOT do online publishers or self publishers. I want a REAL company. But I don't have to money, and I have no idea how to even hire and agent. Let alone an editor.

The fist thing I ever worried about after I finished this story, was money. Now it all ends with the same thing; money. If I want to be published by summer break (June) to get money for a trip to see my BF (Long distance relationship, yeah, get over it.) I would be more successful baby-sitting.

yeah just send/give them a sample and ask them to sign you and if they dont there are always other opctions but have a few friends read and edit first maybe a parent if they dont mind like CC said more than one opction

oh man....I got scared back into writing.

A) I had this creativity overload and ended up going practically insane at the dinner table in front of my family.

B) I remembered I sent an email out to my entire family that lives around the country about what I was going to do.

C) my parents would think it's strange that one day I'm writing and the next I'm not even talking right.

D) my friend from London said she was going to hunt, stalk then tackle me until I started writing again. More afraid of this point than any other...Cause I'm in america...and she tackles her own BF....*shivers* thank her I guess.
